PathoFinder, founded in 2004, is a molecular diagnostics scale-up company based in Maastricht. The company develops and commercializes innovative molecular diagnostic tests for comprehensive detection of a wide variety of infectious disease pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2. PathoFinder's proprietary 2SmartFinder® technology enables the detection and differentiation of up to 24 viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic pathogens in a single assay. PathoNostics, founded in 2011, is PathoFinder’s sister company and is focusing on the development and manufacturing of real-time PCR assays for fungal diagnostics. Our mission is to rapidly detect the disease-causing fungus and simultaneously identify antifungal resistance, allowing clinicians to initiate a dedicated and timely therapy and save on costs and lives. Both PathoFinder and Pathonostics are ISO13485 certified, and all products comply with CE-IVD guidelines.

Job description

PathoFinder and PathoNostics will grow significantly in the coming years. In 2023 our new automated system for syndromic testing will be launched globally. Working at PathoFinder/PathoNostics means working together in a young, dynamic, flexible and driven team.

To revive and boost our marketing activities for our existing product lines as well as to develop our goto-market strategy for our brand new point-of-care device we are looking for a driven, ambitious, energetic and hands-on Marketing/Product Manager. This is a combined position where you bring the best of two worlds into play. You will be responsible for the global marketing strategy and activities for the PathoFinder and PathoNostics product ranges, including product marketing, online exposure & branding, and conferences. On top of that, as the POC Product Manager, you are responsible for designing and implementing the go-to-market strategy to ensure accelerating growth and profitability.

Your marketing tasks will include

• Development of the marketing and branding strategy and annual planning;

• Support the growth of the global PathoFinder and PathoNostics business with direct clients and distributors;

• Provide input for commercial targets for the product ranges, with a focus on improving revenues and increasing profitability.;

• Own the portfolio of sales enablement materials including customer facing and internal slide decks, one-pagers and FAQs, ensuring key messaging and positioning is consistent and up-todate;

• Develop deep expertise in the molecular diagnostics (syndromic) testing target market, understanding key challenges and pain points;

• Maintain pulse on competitive landscape, make recommendations to strengthen PathoFinder’s value proposition and differentiators;

• Assist in identifying and creating impactful customer stories, including customer reference videos, testimonials, product validations, publications and case studies;

• Partner with the commercial team and contribute to (corporate) meetings;

• Work with the distribution channel manager to support user groups and training initiatives;

• Plan and organize our presence and attendance at international exhibitions, conferences and symposia;

• Optimize and or renew our website and boost our online marketing activities

• Keeping the CRM system updated;

• Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders;

• Stay informed of the latest developments in molecular diagnostics by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations; visit dedicated conferences and exhibitions;

Your product management tasks will include

• Marketing support and contribution towards the achievement of commercial targets for our point-of-care strategic marketing, as well as operational product management activities (market intelligence and customer insights, implement a feedback loop system to further develop the POC solution, sales playbook, forecasts, preparation of launch files, ect);

• Launch of the new point-of-care solution following the launch planning. Take ownership of these launches and when ready transfer the knowledge to the sales force (and distributors);

• Partner closely with product team counterparts to ensure market, customer and competitive insights are fully incorporated and prioritized in the product roadmap;

• Participate in pre and post sales calls with clients to better understand needs and challenges;

• Spend time in the field on a regular basis (20% of time) to prepare compelling and credible ‘why buy’ messaging and argumentation, and market test before market product launch;

• Develop a network with Key Opinion Leaders and Key Vision Leaders and act as an ambassador for PathoFinder with internal and external customers;

Requirements

• MSc/BSc in life science, molecular biology or related discipline;

• Experience and understanding of clinical molecular diagnostics, experience in molecular infectious disease diagnostics marketing and sales is desirable;

• Typically, 3+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above;

• Understanding of our customers (public/private laboratories) & local reimbursement mechanisms as appropriate, operating within a highly regulated CE/IVDR compliant diagnostic marketplace;

• Experience in the molecular near patient testing/point-of-care diagnostic market is desirable;

• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, ability to present; in both English and Dutch.

Additionally French speaking is a plus!;

• Ambitious, result oriented, driven with excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet key deadlines;

• High level of autonomy and also be comfortable working as part of a team;

• Required travel 20%;
